PITTSBURGH TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL NAMES AETHON TO THE TECHNOLOGY 50

Company is Recognized in the Advanced Manufacturing Category for Using Robotics to Redefine Hospital Supply Chain Logistics

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – November, 2007 – Aethon Inc. has been recognized by the Pittsburgh Technology Council as one of the region's 50 leading technology-oriented companies. The Council included Aethon in its Technology 50 for its ability to demonstrate strong growth and advancement in product or sales success, financial strength, corporate citizenship, job growth and retention and an innovative product.

Aethon was recognized in the advanced manufacturing category, which encompasses companies that are largely automated and use a high degree of process controls, such as robotics, advanced IT systems and other automated processes. The company designs, manufactures and supports its automated mobile robotic systems at its Pittsburgh headquarters.

Aethon’s core product, TUG, eliminates a major bottleneck in the delivery of healthcare – it roams autonomously throughout hospitals, delivering goods and supplies from point-to-point without a person pushing the cart. TUG is used in more than 100 hospitals by central supply, dietary units, laboratories, laundry rooms, mail rooms, materials management, medical records, nursing, pharmacy and other departments. Many hospitals have deployed multiple TUGs to save time and money, while increasing staff and patient satisfaction.

"It is an honor to be recognized by the Pittsburgh Technology Council along with such a prestigious group of industry leaders," said Aldo Zini, CEO. "This region, which is so supportive of science and technology, is the ideal base for our operations. We look forward to continuing to grow our company in the Pittsburgh-area."

To determine the 50 fastest-growing companies, the Pittsburgh Technology Council reviewed thousands of public and private technology companies in the 13-county region of southwestern Pennsylvania. All applicants were subjected to a final audit and scoring by the Pittsburgh office of Morgan Lewis & Bockius.
