
With the 25th anniversary of Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute being celebrated this week, local robotics-related officials pondered whether Pittsburgh is indeed becoming "Roboburgh" as a national publication called the city several years ago.
"The evidence is still largely anecdotal, but there's mounting evidence that the market is emerging," said Bill Thomasmeyer, director of the Robotics Foundry Inc., a nonprofit economic development organization whose mission is to grow the robotics industry in the region.
