Asset Tracking and Recovery
Aethon’s Asset Tracking and Recovery System extends the inherent mapping and location features of TUG® to identify the location of tagged assets. TUG is outfitted with a single RFID antenna, creating coverage over its entire route of travel, and eliminating the typical high infrastructure hurdles of competitor systems.
While TUG navigates throughout the facility, it continually reads tags that are put on hospital assets. Because TUG always knows where it is, it uses the RFID antenna to simply determine the location of the tagged asset in relation to itself. TUG takes multiple readings as it moves to ''triangulate'' on the tag's signal and determine the location with remarkable accuracy without the need for multiple antennas. TUG collects the data and uploads it real-time to the Aethon asset tracking system for viewing by hospital staff.
Once TUG identify where equipment is located, the data is passed to any asset utilization software program, through an Aethon-provided interface, that provides overall visibility into the location of hospital assets.
Aethon's asset tracking and recovery solution can seamlessly merge with existing hospital systems and requires minimal installation. It works with active RFID tags (unique identifiers). Because it can use any third-party tag, Aethon is tag independent and can be integrated into existing asset management software.
