Users direct the Tug with a touchscreen where they select the stops for the Tug and press a button to send it on its way.

Tugs operate in Delivery mode (user directed deliveries to or pickups from specific locations) or Rounds mode (a regularly scheduled loop with various stops).

For many applications, Tugs can be used with little or no disruption to existing hospital procedures. Some applications require procedure changes, which should be acceptable when compared to the savings in cost.
